What Bumerang is

Bumerang is a list of the things you lend and the things you have borrowed. Bumerang is not a party to the agreement between the lender and the borrower. We don’t look after the things, don’t guarantee that they come back, and are not responsible for damage or loss. That is between the two of you, as it always was.

Your account

You sign in with Apple on iPhone and with Google on Android. Your name is shown to the people you lend to and borrow from. You can delete your account at any time, in the app or as described at bumerang.no/slett-konto.

Borrowers don’t need an account. A loan can be confirmed with a name on a web page or in the App Clip.

What you add

Free and Bumerang Plus

Bumerang is free with up to three things out at a time. Borrowers never pay.

Bumerang Plus is a one-time purchase in the App Store or on Google Play that removes the limit. On iPhone, the widget with your loans on the Home Screen and Lock Screen is also part of Plus. Plus comes in three sizes that give the same: what you pay above the smallest keeps the service running, and the largest also adds a supporter star, on the app icon on iPhone and in the app on Android. If you already have Plus, becoming a supporter is a new purchase at full price. Plus is not a subscription and does not renew. The purchase is made with Apple or Google, and their terms apply to the payment. To ask for your money back, contact Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com, or Google as described on Google Play’s help page.

Plus follows the Apple Account or Google account you bought it with, is not shared through Family Sharing, and can be restored on a new phone with the same account. A purchase on iPhone does not carry over to Android, or the other way round. Plus applies for as long as Bumerang is running, and what you have bought is not taken away from you while the service exists.

If Bumerang shuts down

We hope it never happens, but a one-time purchase is not a promise that the service will run for ever. Should Bumerang shut down, we will:

Reminders and notifications

We do our best to make sure reminders and notifications get through, but can’t promise that the service is always available or that every notification arrives.

Liability

Bumerang is provided as is. We are not liable for losses caused by using the service, beyond what follows from mandatory law.

Changes

These terms may change. If the changes are significant, we will say so in the app before they take effect.

Law and disputes

Norwegian law applies. If you are a consumer, you always keep the rights that mandatory law gives you, including under the Norwegian Digital Services Act (digitalytelsesloven), whatever it says here. If you disagree with us, you can complain to the Norwegian Consumer Council (Forbrukerrådet).

The app itself is downloaded from the App Store or Google Play, and Apple’s standard licence agreement for apps or Google Play’s terms apply to it. See also privacy.
